Day 35

Today is the beginning of a new adventure.  Tim and I are attempting to make our own wine.  This batch will be Cardonnay.  If all goes well, we will attempt a red.  Anyone want to call dibbs on the first bottle?

Day 34

Today I was thinking about where I would like to go for vacation this summer.  Of course, the beach always comes to mind first.  Over the years we have combed the beaches of Florida and come back with a shell or two (or three) of some sort.  One year I even brought home the beautiful white sand from Destin.  Not sure where we'll end up but I hope it's someplace WARM!

Day 33

Tim came home with a piece of blueberry pie a coworker had brought in today.  I was never a fan of blueberries growing up.  But I'm trying to eat more fruit these days (along with the chocolate of course!).  The other day, I found a new recipe for Hannah to try.  It was called "To Die For Blueberry Muffins" and they were to die for literally!  We also recently made blueberry pancakes which were heavenly too!  Bon' Appetit!

Day 32

Jelly Beans.  Who invented these things anyway?  I'm not a fan.  I prefer chocolate over something this chewy and sticky that you feel like you need to go the dentist afterwards to get a good cleaning.  The kids (and even the big one) have gotten on a kick with these things lately and they had to buy the biggest container that I have ever seen and would you believe Costco carried? I think I might have to go find the M&M's hidden in the back of the pantry.

Day 31

I'm in need of a little Chianti today.  I'm not much on red wine.  Many are too oaky for me which is why I love a Reisling or Chardonnay or even a Pinot Grigio, but today I haven't been able to warm up.  Even the hot cocoa this morning didn't do it.

Day 30

Waiting for daddy.  Although he doesn't get home until way past 6 pm, any slight noise will send the dogs running to the front window to see if it's him.

Monday, February 22, 2010

Day 29

The Alto has returned.  Hannah played this instrument for four years in elementary school and upgraded to the Bari in high school.  She prefers the Bari over the Alto but has the opportunity once again to play the Alto in college.  I'm just excited she's playing again.

Day 28

You wouldn't think that with 50 degree temperatures ice would still be found anywhere, but along Hwy 109 near the railroad tracks, these ice sculptures will proably be around until spring.

Day 27

Today we celebrated my God-Child's birthday at Kobe's Restaurant at Westport.  He turned 15 on the 15th.  Pictured with Brandon is his younger brother Clayton, his mom Celeste and dad Craig (aka Gopher).

Day 26

This piano is an antique.  It was purchased from a neighbor over 15 years ago.  It was old back then too!  No one in the house really knows how to play but I love it just because it is an antique.  And, it reminds me of when I was younger when my siblings and I use to bang on our mother's piano!  My mom could play a song after hearing the notes just once.  Wish I had that talent.

Day 25

I didn't go far for my photo today.  I spend many hours at the computer each day and this is my mouse pad.  The photo can be changed out but for now it is of my nephew Connor and neice Hope.

Day 24

I can just hear him saying..."Really..again?"   My cancer boy is doing good.  I'm finding a few lumps here and there on his belly but we are thankful Gunner is still with us.

Day 23

I started growing my own basil this past summer and although my plant is looking a little on the small side, it still is worth using the fresh than the dried.   And thankfully, Simon leaves it alone!  The only live plant in the house the cat has not eaten!!

Day 22

While cleaning out our closets back in January, we pulled out our wedding album or at least tried to.  It was stuck to the bottom of the box.  Our leather cover had disintegrated.  Luckily, our binder had a lifetime warranty and the company was still in business.  Our album is as good as new again.

Day 21

Today is Valentines Day but more important, it's my valentine's birthday! Happy Birthday Tim!

Day 20

Enjoying time with friends at the Mouse Races Saturday night.  Friends, food, beverages and furry little creatures..what more could you ask for!

Friday, February 12, 2010

Day 19

Nice night to lounge by the fire and watch the opening Olympic Ceremony.

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Day 18

As Rachael Ray would say, "Yum-O".  These banana chocolate chip cookies are heavenly.   Thanks for the delicious cookies Hannah!

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Day 17

Kolby is having a lazy day today.  He loves the cold weather but today is just too frigid.

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Day 16

This has got to be one of the worst puzzles to put together.  If you look close enough, you can see  four images on one piece of the puzzle.  When it's all put together, it looks like one picture!  The person who thought of this is either a genius or insane!  Hannah thought it would be cool to put together but after one evening of not getting far along, she quit.  And I haven't been able to talk anyone into helping me finish it!  Check back in a few months to maybe see the final layout!

Day 15

Yes this is strange.  I've been in and out all day and didn't have time until this evening to play around with the camera.  My snow shots weren't turning out since it's dark already and my kids are not willing participants like my neice Hope so I resorted to food.  I'm learning to not use the flash as often as I have in the past.

Day 14 - Hope

Such a ham!  My neice Hope never hesitates when she wants her picture taken.  Her daddy takes tons of photos of her so I guess she's use to it!

Day 13 - Sleepy Kitty

Simon is fourteen now (I think).  It's hard to keep track.  Hannah got him when she was in kindergarten way back when.  He is still very active and able to outrun Kolby, which is a good thing!

Day 12 - Creve Coeur Lake

No your eyes are not fuzzy.  It's raining/sleeting today (plus I was moving as I was taking this photo).  Those three things makes for a not-so-clear picture.  I was meeting a good friend for lunch today and thought I would drive by the lake which was not far from our old house.  The kids and I spent many days at the park here when they were young.  Oh, how I miss those days!

2009 Yearbook

I finally finish my 2009 Yearbook and it came in today.  I love the new matte finish option and the optionn to choose black inside covers.  Here's a link if you want to take a peak!

Day 11 - Branches

Kind of strange, yes.  I'm trying to get creative here.  365 days is a long time to come up with a different photo each day!  And I'm only on day 11!  This is a small tree in our back yard.  Don't ask me what kind.  It has small cherries on it and the birds love them!

Day 10 - Chauncy & Hannah

This is Chauncy from the Kennel.  Such a cutie and oh so very soft!  No Hannah we can't keep him!

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Day 9 - Betta

Taking this picture was a bit tricky.  I've tried several different themes like "underwater" and "high sensitive" and I couldn't get the photo to come out very clear.  Maybe it's the filthy water!  I think it's time for Hannah to clean Jack's living quarters!  Yes, she named him Jack. (?)

Day 8 - Indian Lake

This was the photo I was going to post yesterday until that hawk decided to appear in my backyard.  We drove to Cuba, MO to check out Indian Lake.  Several of Tim's co-workers have lake homes there.

Here is my latest project...our 2011 Family Yearbook.

2010 HM Reunion

Last August, consultants from around the country gathered in Arizona for this year's Reunion! It was such great fun! Can't wait for this year's trip to Utah! Want to join me?
