Day 156

My tootsies are ready for vacation!

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Day 155

My pies aren't the prettiest but this peach pie is YUM-O if I have to say so myself!

Day 154

This has to be one of my favorite shots so far.  This butterfly has been enjoying the cone flowers all morning.  I don't think he has left yet.

Day 153

This is something you won't see in my backyard, unfortunately.  Tim and I took a drive to the lake today.  This is one of several huge oak trees on the property.

Day 152

The Gladiolas just started to bloom this week.  They are not completely full but will be in a day or two.  I think I have officially photographed every single flower I have in the yard.

Day 151

Believe it or not, we do have other pets besides Tucker and Kolby.  Simon is normally hidden away somewhere to keep out of the grasp of Tucker, but this evening he was out and about.  Unfortunately, he didn't like the flash and he would thus close his eyes.  Maybe next time Simon.

Day 150

I thought I would post another photo of Kolby seeing how most of my shots were of Tucker.  Didn't want him to feel left out.  You know how it is when a new baby comes along; all the ooooh's and aaaaah's go to the baby.  I make sure to give him lots of lovin's too.

Day 149

More Lillies. I used the zoom lens tonight.  I like the look of the photos better with a zoom but I'm still learning how to get the best photo.  Sometimes part of the shot are blurred.

Day 148

Today was Tucker's first day of puppy obedience class.  I thought for sure he would come home exhausted and collapse on his bed but he was rarin' to go.  Maybe he'll sleep past 5:00 a.m. tomorrow!!  One can only hope!

Day 147

With all kinds of different flowers, one can come to expect a few bees.  As long as they keep to minding their own bees wax, we will have no trouble whatsoever.

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Day 146

The green peppers are looking pretty good these days.  Some are ready to be picked actually.  The banana peppers are doing very well also.  Squash plants are taking over and I think I will need a bigger plot next year!

Day 145

So I wandered around the yard today for some unique shots to take and my photo eyes just weren't working today.  Then I glanced at the neighbor's yard and found roses.  They were just on the other side of the fence but not close enough for me to get a straight shot.  So I stretched the arm and shot.  Wa-La.

Day 144

Any clue what this is?  I know, it's kind of strange to be taking photos of wicker baskets.  I was desperate though.  Hopefully this weekend my photos will be a bit more interesting.

Day 143

The sunset was really pretty tonight but can't be seen very well from where our house sits.  Although when I looked southeast, the sun reflected off of these clouds and made them pink.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Day 142

I love these dainty little flowers.  I just need to keep Tucker from eating them.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Day 141

One minute the sun is shining, the next there are storm clouds.  Fifteen minutes later the sun is shining again only to leave a few hours later for more storm clouds.   Welcome to the midwest!

Monday, June 14, 2010

Day 140

This is a white cone flower.  The petals are not as wide as the purple ones for some reason.  I'm not sure if that is always the case or if it's just the way mine grew.  Either way I think they are still very pretty.

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Day 139

Summer is the time for fruit and I love fruit.  Although, I prefer my blueberries in pancakes or muffins but occasionally a parfait will do!

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Day 138

You can't see them very well here but Tucker is playing with bubbles!  I was hoping for an up-close shot but he and the bubbles were too quick.

Friday, June 11, 2010

Day 137

I think these are those nasty Japenese Beetles that are such a nuisance on certain trees.  I was surprised to see them on my Cone flowers!

Day 136

June 10 - I completely spaced on today's photo!!!  What a bummer :(

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

This layout was designed by another HM Consultant.  It's simple yet works well with my decor.  This picture was taken of Hannah on one of our many trips to Destin years ago.  I framed it and gave to her for her 19th birthday.

Day 135

This must be the week to be a bad puppy.  Someone has learned how to jump on the furniture.  He was so determined to get one of Hannah's socks. (Which by the way has been told several times to not let them lay around.)  Notice the shoes?  Those are Carey's, which so happened to already be on the furniture as well!  There is no safe place any longer from the dreaded puppy teeth!

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Day 134

Before the downpour today, I snapped this photo of a cone flower.

Monday, June 7, 2010

Day 133

A bad puppy makes for a crabby mommy!  Tucker was asleep so I thought I would squeeze in an hour of work.  I listened very carefully for sounds of little paws and the jingles of his tags.  I heard not a peep.  I go to check on him and he is asleep exactly where I left him.  EXCEPT.....my flip flops which were located in a completely different room have been destroyed!

Day 132

Most of the daylilies in the yard are yellow but I did plant a few of these red ones last year.  These seem to be not as smooth as the yellow which makes for a unique edge.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

Day 131

A couple of knuckle heads is all I have to say.....

Friday, June 4, 2010

Day 130

Field of Daylilies.....actually it's not a field; just a small corner of the backyard.  It's not creative but I needed to snap a quick photo today as I'm about to head out to a Cardinal game.  I will try to take pictures tonight and post those tomorrow.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Day 129

I'm trying to get creative here.  Puppies and flowers are more appealing to look at, but flowers fade and puppies can only sit still for so long.  This is actually a lamp shade.  I had to stand on the furniture in order to take this shot.  Wasn't wht you expected, was it?

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Day 128

I know taking pictures through a window is not ideal but I knew I wouldn't have been able to walk out the back door without scaring away the finches that are at the hummingbird feeder!  What's up with that? I have yet to see any hummingbirds this year.

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Day 127

This doesn't happen often.  Kolby and Tucker are "sharing" their bed.  The sharing doesn't last long though.

2011 Family Yearbook

Here is my latest project...our 2011 Family Yearbook.

2010 HM Reunion

Last August, consultants from around the country gathered in Arizona for this year's Reunion! It was such great fun! Can't wait for this year's trip to Utah! Want to join me?
