Day 331

Monday Day 331 - Today Tucker visited Dr. Kay for a checkup.  Going to the vet makes the pups very tired for some reason.  About an hour after we got home, we found him asleep on the couch with his bone stuck in his mouth and his tougue hanging out!

Day 330

Sunday Day 330 - I was lazy today so my photo is one from my parent's house on Christmas Eve.  This is looking out the back of the house.

Day 329

Saturday Day 329 - Christmas Day with the Muse's.

Day 328

Friday Day 328 - Christmas Eve at my parent's house.  With the snow coming down, the forest behind the house made a perfect backdrop for the birdhouse.

Day 327

Thursday Day 327 - The cookies are all baked, the gifts are all wrapped.  Now it's time to settle in with a glass of wine and a warm cozy fire along with my wonderful family.  Life is good!

Day 326

Wednesday Day 326 - Have you ever had a disaster while baking?  These "gingerbread" cookies were a disaster because I ran out of molasses and had to make a substitution. After a few adjustments, they came out delish!

Day 325

Tuesday Day 325 - If you haven't tired a Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookie, you do not know what you are missing.  All I have to say is OMG!

Day 324

Monday Day 324 - Today I started baking my Christmas Cookies.  By weeks end, I will probably have made 10-12 different types of cookies. One of my all-time favorites is the Snickerdoodle.

Day 323

Sunday Day 323 -  Sometimes I think the furry kids think they are human by the way they lounge on the furniture.

Day 322

Saturday Day 322 -  The little bit of dusting we had this morning made for some really cute puppy prints on the patio.

Day 321

Are you tired of my Tucker pics yet?  I'm getting tired of taking them actually, but he's the only enteraining and interesting prop I have at the moment!  Let's see, only 44 more days left of my Project 365!

Day 320

Thursday, Day 320 -What causes hundreds of birds to swarm one area?  I expect lots of birds to be near my home as there are a couple of neighbors that like to feed them, but today was just ridicously crazy!  This photo doesn't even show half of them.  Many were still on the roof, in the trees and on the ground.

Day 319

Wednesday, Day 319 - Tucker is totally zonked!  Not sure why he feels the need to sleep this way.  Kolby doesn't and Gunner surely never did.  Must be the "lab" in him.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Day 318

Day 318 - This ornament came from Yosemite when we vacationed there years ago. One of our best trips and the first time the kids flew on an airplane.  Those were the days...

Monday, December 13, 2010

Day 317

Monday, Day 317 - Today the pups enjoyed lots of time outside playing despite the freezing temperature.  This is Tucker's first snow experience and he is having a ball!  Kolby on the other hand, would prefer Tucker go play somewhere else!

Day 316

Saturday, Day 316 - Taking pictures of Christmas lights indoor is just as hard as outdoors!

Day 315

Saturday, Day 315 - The "guard dogs" are hard at work today.  Kolby is teaching Tucker how to keep the birds, squirrels and moles from coming into the yard!  Such good dogs...

Day 314

Friday, Day 314 - I'm amazed how kitty's can curl themselves up in such a tight little circle.  His favorite spot to lay is on top of the sofa.

Day 313

Thursday, Day 313 - I tried playing around with the settings for taking photos of Christmas lights at night.  This was probably the best one I took but I'm sure there is a way to make it better.  Just haven't figured it all out yet.

Day 312

Each year, my mom, sister and sister-in-laws take a holiday shopping trip somewhere usually within driving distance, but not always.  A couple of years ago, we hit Minnesota's Mall of America.  This little ornament will always remind me of our special times together.

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Day 311

Tuesday Day 311 - I will be amazed come next spring if I have a bush left in the yard.  My mischievious pup, who is nine months old now, doesn't seem to mind chopping off a branch or two.  I am so looking forward to the puppy years to be over!

Day 310

Monday Day 310 - We all know how the story goes..."the stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...."  Well today is the feast of St. Nicholas and he has decided to visit us on Christmas Day instead.  However, one out-of-town child of mine hoped he would deliver hers by UPS!

Day 309

Sunday Day 309 - I have a thing for snowmen.   During the holidays they are on hanging from my walls, sitting on tables, and adorn my Christmas Tree.  This metal fellow sits by the fireplace.

Day 308

Saturday Day 308 - We have been to Key West a few times and if you've been there before, you will remember seeing roosters roam the streets no matter where you are.  Odd to see on city streets if you've never seen it before.  In any case, a rooster was the ornament of choice.

Day 307

Did you see the sunrise this morning?  The colors were awesome!  Wish I were somewhere to get a really good horizon shot (without rooftops!).

Day 306

Thursday Day 306 - I should have had more lighting in the room for this one but it's still okay I guess.  It is a metal tree I have displayed on the mantle for the holidays.

Day 305

Wednesday Day 305 - Tucker loves to play fetch, even in the house down the foyer. But he's not always good about "dropping".  My fingers have been munched a time or two.

2010 Christmas Card

I finished my Christmas Card and will be mailing them within the next week or so.  For my Facebook and Blogger friends, you can see my card here.

Day 304

Day 304 - This ornament came from Destin when we visited recently.

Day 303

Monday Day 303 -  These were ornaments for a tiny tree Hannah once had in her room.  I think I might display them in a glass vase for the mantle.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Day 302

Sunday Day 302 - Well the Christmas Tree is up and the ornaments are out (well, almost all of them).  I probably have over 100 ornaments and it literally takes me a couple of hours to get them out of their original boxes and up on the tree.  It's time consuming but I love reminiscing over each one.  I can tell you where each one came from and most of the time, who gave it to me.  I also collect ornaments from where we vacation.  This moose came from Park City, Utah.

Day 301

Saturday Day 301 - Today was the baby shower for Dustin and Jenny.  I will have to admit that the cupcakes from Kate's Kreations were way better than Sam's.  But I'm a chocoholic so odds were against Sam from the beginning!

Day 300

Friday Day 300 - Tomorrow is Dustin and Jenny's Baby Shower.  This is a cake Celeste ordered from Sam's.  Look's good...let's hope it taste even better.

Day 299

Thursday, Day 299 - It's Thanksgiving and I needed a family photo for my Christmas Card....I will def need to crop this one but it should turn out great in the card.  Be sure to look for an upcoming Christmas Card on my blog.

Day 298

Wednesday, Day 298 - You know it's almost Thanksgiving when the pumpkin pie's are being made!

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Day 297

A pair of Cardinals stopped by for a visit today.  They were close enough for a nice shot but too close for me to open the slider to get a really clear photo.

Monday, November 22, 2010

Day 296

Day 296 - Wanna know what the temp is on this fine November 22 day?  Here's the photo to prove that it was in the 70's!

Day 295

Sunday Day 295 - Lately, Tim and I have enjoyed relaxing at the outdoor patios with the fire pits the resturants have to offer on Main Street in St. Charles.  They now have their lights up for the holiday.  This was taken with my cell phone.

Day 294

Saturday Day 294 - Today on my way into Illinois, the fog was so thick you could barely see the bridge!  This was taken with my cell phone.

Day 293

Friday Day 293 - The firewood was delivered last night.  Now we are ready for the cold!

Day 292

Thursday Day 292 - Tonight I thought I would try and make Cioppini.  We see this recipe on the Food Network channel quite often.  I wasn't impressed but maybe it was just the recipe I used.  That and the fact that I didn't splurge and buy lobster!  It was an okay dish.  I think I'll leave it to the restaurants and splurge there next time!

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Day 291

Wednesday Day 291 - I'm sure this photo has you wondering what the heck is going on in the Muse house!  Well, you would need to ask Tucker about this one.  I can only imagine that he really, really wanted the chilled water as opposed to the tepid water in his own bowl.

Day 290

Tuesday Day 290 - Anyone want to come by and pick up all the leaves in my yard?

Day 289

Monday Day 289 - Coloring is part of my job.....well, sort of.  Not the kind of coloring I remember as a child anyway.

Day 288

Sunday Day 288 - The Columnar tree in the front of the house is finally showing it's fall coloring.

Day 287

Saturday Day 287 - Who would have guessed we would still have dandelions in our yard in NOVEMBER! Would have never guessed the little bee on the dandelion would still be out and about either! (I had not idea he was there when I took the shot.)

Day 286

Friday Day 286 - I'm getting desperate on photo shots for my Project 365.  Any clue?  If you guessed carpet, you are correct.  I'll try to do better tomorrow!

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Day 285

Day 285 - The Bradford Pear trees have finally changed their color.  This one is in the backyard of a neighbors house.

Day 284

Wednesday Day 284 - This guy was pretty cute.  Not sure what he is but he didn't fly away on me!

Day 283

Tuesday - Day 283 - Dierbergs has the best Cinnamon Bread.  I try not to indulge too often, but cinnamon is almost as high on the craving chart as chocolate!

Day 282

Monday Day 282 - Back to reality!  Tim bought me a new feeder while I was gone this past weekend.  Today a strawberry finch came by to feed.  I only wish I could get closer without the birds seeing me through the back door.
