Day 7 - Hawk

Wow!  Can you believe this pic?  This was taken in my backyard just feet away from our door!  We drove to Indian Lake today since it was so nice out and the sun was shining.  I actually have some very nice pictures of the lake and had intended on posting one for todays project.  But when we got home and I was about to let the dogs outside, this hawk was sitting on top of the bird feeder.  He was obviously looking for "bird" food but not the kind I was leaving!  We have about 4 pairs of Cardinals that come to feed daily along with a pair of doves, finches and other little snow birds.  This hawk hung around for about 20 mintues when I finally decided to let the dogs go.  Evidentally, there was a little snow bird hiding in the tall grass just below the feeder.  The hawk was waiting for the bird to come out of hiding.  No, the hawk didn't eat him (at least not while we were watching)!

Day 6 - Moon

Tonight the clouds have gone and left us with very chilly temperatures but a great night to see the stars and the awesome moon.  My little camera doesn't do it justice though.

Day 5 - Doves

Okay, I cheated on this one.  It was too darn cold to go outside for this picture so I took it through our window.  Of course, the doves couldn't have shown me their better side but I'll take what I can get as long as they won't fly away.  Looking forward to warmer weather!

Only 2 days left for Premier Special

Like to digi-scrap?  Then you'll want to get in on the January Premier Special.  Heritage Maker's Premier Account is only $99.95 for the whole year!  That's like getting the whole scrap store for about $9.00 a month!  That's my kind of coupon! Email me by Saturday to get in on this special!

Day 4 - The Pups

Finally sunshine today!!  There is still a little bit of snow left from yesterday's "surprise forecast".  The pups and I went outside and released a little bit of cooped up energy.  They love to run in this cold weather.  Kolby is the Golden/Chow mix and Gunner (aka the G-Man) is the Golden Retriever.

Day 3 - The G-Man

This is the G-Man (Gunner) up close and personal!  Didn't play around too much with the camera today. It has been 12 weeks since his cancer diagnosis and he is still very active and playful.  Lot's of lovin' these days!

Day 2

It is only Day 2 of Project 365 and I can see that finding things to photograph during the winter might prove to be a bit difficult.  Today is cold and windy so I resorted to finding something to photograph indoors.  I always have my pups to photograph and you will see many of those as the year goes by but I decided to photograph a sweatshirt.  Why?  Because I need the graphics for my 2009 yearbook I'm trying to finish up before the end of the month!  I have learned two new buttons today...exposure and flash!  I'm one to just want to aim and shoot and not have to deal with lots of buttons to push, but today's photo was screaming no flash!

Project 365 Continues...Day 1 Revisited

Now that I have my camera back (woo hoo!), I can begin what I started several weeks ago.  Today I attempted to take a picture of the Cardinals that flock to my bird feeder.  It's not easy taking pics of birds.  As soon as I would open the door, they would fly away.  It's also a very cloudy day today.

Day 1, Project 365 In Memory of Grandma

Today, my grandmother passed away. I am so thankful to have spent some time around the holidays with her. I am even more grateful to have photos of her and had even had the opportunity to publish a story about her. She loved her family and her church. Each weekend she would decorate for the upcoming masses and I was thrilled to have her decorate for my wedding. When it became difficult for her to live on her own, she was given the position of "head activity planner/decorator" for the nursing home. She was never one to be dawdling!

I will never forget my last visit with her and the many memories we shared. She is with her Maker and will truly be missed.
Love ya Grandma!!

Project 365

You may have seen this project posted on other forums. Thanks to Heritage Makers for introducing the project to me! I think this is a great idea and hope to improve on my photo taking skills. As you can see, I'm not much of a blogger since I haven't posted since 2008! With Project 365, not only should my skills in photography improve, but so should my blogging!
