Day 95

I've been trying for over an hour now to upload a photo of our new addition.  I'm tired and will try to do it again tomorrow.

Day 94

Today was not much of an exciting day for photos.  The lacrosse game was a bit frustruating even though Carey played very well.  We lost.  I only took a couple of pictures during the game but the few I took, it seemed someone had the nerve to walk in front of my space!  I edited this photo in Photoshop to delete most of the guy who interfered.  Still need to learn how to "erase" completely.  Oh well. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

Day 93

Mr Bunny stopped by this morning.  Actually, I think he lives either in our yard or the neighbors behind us.  He doesn't usually relax on the patio though, which is where Kolby and I found him.  Kolby was biting at the bit for me to open the back door.  This one was pretty quick on his feet but I remember last year, Kolby was quicker and had a bunny cornered at the fence post.

Day 92

I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet.  I have mixed feelings.  An accident on this typically doesn't have a good outcome, but I know that Tim is a very safe driver and Carey will never ever ever be allowed on one until he is more mature (like in his forties!)  Tim use to ride years ago - premarriage - and I guess he had the inkling again.  He deserves it.  He's worked hard and needs a new toy every now and then.  I'll just keep my rosary handy.

Day 92

Look what I found in my front yard today?  Isn't she adorable?  Her mate was in the street standing in the water puddle.  Not sure why they settled here because the pond is a mile away from our house.  I hope they find their way back because I don't think Kolby will take kindly to them moving in!

Day 88, 89, 90 and 91

I took a mini vacation this past weekend and was not able to post my daily pics. Tim went to San Franciso last week for a business trip and we decided I would meet up with him on Thursday and then travel to Napa Valley for the weekend. It was just a great time! I was very nervous about flyin by myself as I have never had to go anywhere with Tim and the kids. There was only glitch in the itineray and that was when my "late arriving" plane into Phoenix caused me to miss my connection to San Fran. Other than that it was a breeze.

We stayed in downtown Napa in a small hotel called Napa River Inn.  This place was more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel.  I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a getaway with your hubby!

We chose to have breakfast delivered to our room Saturday morning and it was delish!

Saturday we decided to get out of the city and drive through the countryside where all of the wineries were located.  The views were gorgeous with the vines in the valley's and the mountains in the backdrop.  We had perfect weather - 75 degrees all weekend.

We toured Beringer's winery and homestead located in St. Helena  (I believe). In the olden days, they kept their wines in oak barrels (purchased from Springfield MO!) and in a cave where the temperatures remain the same all year long.  These day's, they mass produce in a large warehouse but it was neat to be able to walk through the cave see how it was made.  During the tour we sampled five different wines and toured to original homestead.

Day 87

Another night of running from Lax to Soccer.  I usually don't have the opportunity to get this up close with my camera during sports.  Tonight for some reason my digital camera was on "delay" and I missed quite a few action shots.  Oh well, I like this one better anyway.

Day 86

Okay, so I was desperate today.  I worked all morning and into the afternoon only to head out to a lacrosse game (actually two) and make dinner at 9pm. Not a good time to realize you are without a photo for your project!  Not a bad pic for my first candlighting photo.  This was used with the "candle light" setting.

Day 85

Today I received a bouquet of roses from my boss!  Wasn't that sweet?!  Thanks Cindy!

Day 84

Tim and I decided to walk for our ice cream today.  I'm guessing we walked about a mile to and from but it was worth it!  Tim had vanilla with strawberries and I had chocolate with peanut butter cups (of course!).  We took Kolby with us and he enjoyed a few licks of the vanilla and strawberries.  He deserved it too!

Day 81 Repost

I developed my film today from our lacrosse game on Day 81.  I used an 800 film thinking I would catch more action shots but it appears to have made them more grainy.  This was also zoomed in several feet as I am up in the bleachers of the stadium.

Day 83

Today was a great day to go sailing.  Unfortunately, that is not me out there!  We drove to Indian Hills again because it's so nice and peaceful out there.  One day soon, hopefully, we can have our own piece of the lake.

Day 82

A few months ago we started making our own wine.  Tonight it was time to bottle it.  The bottles will stand upright for three days and then we will lay them down on their sides for at least one more month.  By then, hopefully, we will come up with some cool design for our label.  Should be interesting!

Day 81

As you can see, I don't have a photo today.  That is because I took pictures with my old "film" camera so that I could zoom in for close-up shots of Carey's lacrosse game.  Once I get the film developed, I can repost!

Day 80

My dear friend, Yolanda, sent me this Lily a couple of weeks ago. Today it opened.  When I zoomed in on the yellow seed part, it looks much like corn on the cob!

Day 79

This photo doesn't show the real beauty of this tree.  It is so pretty with the pinkish white blooms.  The bumble bees love it too!

day 78

Yesterday, Tim tilled the raised garden bed for me and today I planted.  This summer we should have tomatoes (large and cherry), yellow squash, cucumber and peppers (banana, green bell and red).  I also planted cilantro, chives and more basil in pots.  Gotta love summer!

Day 77

This is the Manchester United Renegades Soccer Team.  One of the dad's likes to paint his head blue and then paint the boys' numbers in white.  Yes, he's a bit strange, but we all love him and the boys get a kick out of it!

Day 76

Saturday, April 10th - Timing is everything when it comes to digital cameras and soccer shots.  This weekend Carey and I were in Jefferson City for the Soccerfest Tournament.  Unfortunately, the teams seemed a bit "out of age" and the referring was not at its best.  But it was a great weekend weatherwise and I came home with a good start on my tan!

Day 75

With the weather so nice and Kolby and I trying to do well with our "controlled eating", we went for an afternoon walk.  The lake near our house is usually full of geese and ducks, but today we came across this family of turtles.  This was as close of a shot as I could get with them being across the other side and my camera not being able to zoom in much closer.  What's amazing to me is that I thought there were only three until after I uploaded the picture and saw there were five of them.

Day 74

Remember the cartoon from years ago where the sheep dog would watch over the flock and the coyote could never fool him even though the sheep dog's fur covered his eyes and always looked straight ahead?  Well Kolby is our wanna-be sheep dog.  He will pick a corner of the patio and sit and overlook the yards.  Sometimes he is watching for bunnies.  Other times, like today, he is watching the neighbor's Shitzu's who like to bark at anything that moves.

In memory of Gunner

I created this layout using Heritage Makers 12 x 12 Scrapbook Page.   In the past, I always used a shadow box with a photo of my Cocker Spaniel Angels along with their collars.  I haven't decided what to do with Angel Gunner's collar yet, but this layout will definitely get framed.

Day 73

My tulips opened this morning and I was able to snap this picture before the wind blew it sideways.

Day 72

Need I say more?

Monday, April 5, 2010

Day 71

This is another tree in our backyard that has just started to bloom. I don't know what kind this one is though.  It's not a large tree; just a small ornamental type.  In the fall, it produces little berries that the birds go nuts for.  This tree is also located between a bird bath and a feeder so it is a favorite landing (and hiding) spot for the young birds.

Day 70

Happy Easter!  Warm weather, spending time with family and lots of  food.  What more could you ask for?
Unfortunately, Hannah had to work the kennel today so she is missing from our annual Easter photo.  Sorry kiddo.

Day 69

Today was baking day.  Strawberry pie for the Muse's and homemade cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting for the Schmelzle's.  I tried a couple of new recipes and I hope they taste as good as they made the house smell today.  Yum-O!

Day 68

Yesterday I showed you a photo of a closeup of our cherry tree.  This is the same tree but I'm looking down on it from our bedroom window.  Amazing what one day can do!

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Day 67

I've been waiting for the backyard trees to bloom and they finally opened up today.  The blooms on this cherry tree will be completely open after today with all of the "hot" air we are having today.  What happened to Spring?!  I've tried several different settings on the camera and the only one that worked well and zoomed in clear enough was the "Food" setting.
